Superintendent (Heavy Civil / Highway Construction)
Overview:
We are seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil projects including site development, roadwork, utilities, and highway construction. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to run a job efficiently, keep crews productive, and deliver high-quality work safely and on schedule.
We’re a growing company with a steady pipeline of public and private work, and we’re looking for someone who takes ownership in the field and wants to be part of a team that values accountability and results.
Responsibilities:

Lead all day-to-day jobsite operations from start through completion

Manage crews, subcontractors, equipment, and vendors

Drive production while maintaining cost control and schedule adherence

Coordinate material deliveries and maintain accurate logs

Monitor quality control and ensure work meets project specifications

Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policy and OSHA regulations

Develop and manage short-term “look-ahead” schedules
-
Identify issues early and handle change orders and field adjustments as needed
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil or highway construction
-
Strong field experience with:
-
Earthwork (cuts/fills)
-
Utilities and pipe installation
-
Rock excavation, blasting, crushing and screening
-
Grading and subgrade preparation
-
DOT specifications and standards
-

Proven ability to run large-scale site projects independently

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and keep projects moving

Solid communication and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project is a plus)

OSHA 30 certification required
Education:

College degree preferred, ideally in Engineering or a related field
