Job Description:

Great opportunity for an individual to learn about the construction industry while providing support to our estimating department for projects in the heavy highway construction industry. This opportunity will compliment anyone who has a construction and/or engineering degree. Individuals in this position have the potential for advancement in estimating and project management within the organization.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Directing subcontractors through new vendor application and insurance requirements

• Support estimating staff in all phases of estimating and bidding process

• Review project plans & specifications

• Preform quantity takeoff from project blueprints by hand using Bluebeam Reva software

• Create excel spreadsheets to organize quantity takeoff& perform further calculation

• Distribute bid documents to sub-contractors & suppliers 

• Gather quotations from subcontractors & suppliers

• Enter bid quantities into HCSS estimating software

• Assist in the completion of bid forms and proposal requirements

• Attend pre-bid meetings & bid openings

Requirements:

• Being a civilized human being whom people enjoy being around

• You've used a computer before and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Email

• Superior interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

• Must maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

• Detail orientated

• Good communication skills

 

Computer Skills:

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Knowledge of HCSS estimating software is a plus

• Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu software is a plus

Additional:

• Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus
