Human Resources Manager/Equal Employment Opportunity Officer

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consistently engages in training and educational courses to ensure the Company program adapts with any changes in the laws and regulations

  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel including union and non-union employees (200 + employees); assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual

  • Maintains in personnel file all training and education courses taken by all employees. Ensures that each employee is in compliance with the training requirements

  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees

  • Handle all Insurance claims (Workers Comp, Auto, GL)

  • Receive and distribute employee PTO requests and update the company calendar once request is approved

  • Maintains affirmative action program; EEOC; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEOC regulations

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees (pre- interview calls with candidates and reference checks); conducts new-employee orientations; writes and places advertisements in cooperation with department heads

  • Manage the employee review process (create new reviews by position when needed)

  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing

  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed. 

  • Run NYS Lens report on all new hires 

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment

  • Assist administrative or finance staff in processing payroll

  • Assist in maintaining and updating payroll records

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.

  • A minimum of three years of Human Resource Management experience preferred.

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred.
