Project Description:

The Popham Road Bridge Replacement over the Metro-North Railroad project involved the replacement of the deteriorated Popham Road Bridge and the reconstruction of Popham Road, a portion of East Parkway and Garth Road, to improve traffic operation and vehicular/pedestrian safety on Popham Road. It also provided a new commuter access to the inbound Metro North Railroad platform. Popham Road is an East-West urban principal material non-connecting link through the Village of Scarsdale, NY. The Popham Road Bridge, which was widened from three lanes to five lanes to improve traffic and safety conditions. The work also included a Metro North Rail Road platform extension, new site drainage, street lighting, traffic signals and a planted median. Utility work included water main and hydrant relocation work, telephone work (Verizon), as well as gas and electric work (Consolidated Edison).
